Exploring the evidence that the works of Shakespeare were written by Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford

Reasonable doubters arise!

Shakespeare Authorship Coalition Chairman John Shanan announced the next update of signatories to the Declaration of Reasonable Doubt on the second anniversary, Sept. 8, 2009, of the declaration:

The next update to our list of signatories to the Declaration of Reasonable Doubt is scheduled for Monday, November 16th. This will probably be our last opportunity to attract media attention before the publication of Columbia University English Professor James Shapiro’s book on the authorship controversy: Contested Will : We have two additional ‘notable’ signatories who are worthy of media attention, so it’s not outside the realm of possibility we will get some. Please help us maximize the signatory count on November 16 by encouraging people you know who have not already signed the Declaration to do so by November 15. We’ve already added 148 signatories since our last update on April 13, and you can tell people you know that they will be in good company if they are in this next group. We have a total of 1,691 signatories, including 290 current or former college/university faculty members. It would be terrific if we could also report 300 faculty members. Ten more is all we need. With your help, we can do it in the next two months!
