Exploring the evidence that the works of Shakespeare were written by Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford

Proposals for Denver papers due May 1

A SOF Conference Committee reminder that proposals for papers to be read in Denver and/or proposals for special sessions during the Denver conference are due by May 1. There may be a second call for papers after that but if all speaking slots are taken in the May 1 call, it may not be possible to add in new slots.

Written proposals should be about 250 words.  A 3-5 line bio should be included for people who have previously spoken at SOF conferences or who are active within the organization.  New speakers should expand the bio so that the Conference Committee knows who they are.

Ideally, papers will be presented live in Denver but the Committee is happy to consider papers that can be recorded in advance and presented on video.

Please identify whether you will present live or on video and your preferred length – 15, 30 or 45 minutes. All papers must include at least five minutes for Q & A with the audience.

The Committee will inform all speakers if their proposals have been chosen as soon as possible after the May 1 deadline. As well, the Committee will let speakers know what length has been approved.

Needless to say (but we will say it anyway) all papers must have a clear connection to Oxfordian and/or authorship studies.

Because Denver conference attendees will have the opportunity to see a performance of Hamlet directed by Chris Coleman at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, special preference will be given to papers on Hamlet from an Oxfordian viewpoint.

Proposals should be sent as early as possible to Conference Committee Program Chair Don Rubin at the following address: drubin@yorku.ca
