Exploring the evidence that the works of Shakespeare were written by Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford

Join Phoebe Nir and Bryan Wildenthal at the Blue Boar Tavern June 28

Join Oxfordian scholars for a pint in The Blue Boar Tavern.

This summer we are opening the patio at the Blue Boar Tavern and all are welcome!

June 28  “Pseudonymity”
What does it mean that the Shakespearean era was a “golden age of pseudonyms”? What the heck is an allonym? We look at the who, what, how, and why of pen names.

July 26  “Who Are Those Guys?”
The title – a line from the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid – will be our cue to talk about some of the peripheral players in the SAQ mystery – the Dukes, Marquesses, Earls, Viscounts, and Barons who would be much easier to keep straight if each of them had only one name, plus associated commoners.

Aug 16 Elizabeth Winkler’s Book:  Shakespeare Was a Woman and Other Heresies
Elizabeth Winkler will be our special guest as we discuss her brilliant broadside against the Stratfordian religion.

We’ll gather on Wednesdays at 8pm E / 5pm P and these three episodes feature a new lineup at the bar: Earl Showerman will be much missed as he redirects his time toward the Oxfordian books he is writing, and Bonner Cutting will be taking a short hiatus, but plans to be back in the tavern this fall.

Taking Earl’s place will be Early Shakespeare Authorship Doubts author Bryan Wildenthal and writer and filmmaker Phoebe Nir will be filling in for Bonner.  Dorothea Dickerman, Tom Woosnam and our genial host Jonathan Dixon will be in their regular seats.

All three dates will be open to everyone on our mailing list. (Not on our list? Sign up here!) Watch your email for the meeting link.

We look forward to seeing you in the tavern!
