Exploring the evidence that the works of Shakespeare were written by Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford

New Video Series: “The SOF Interviews” Debuts with Michael Delahoyde

Professor Michael Delahoyde joins us to discuss his edition of Twelfth Night.

Join Washington State University Professor of English Michael Delahoyde and SOF President Bob Meyers as they discuss Professor Delahoyde’s new annotated Oxfordian edition of Twelfth Night. This conversation kicks off “The SOF Interviews,” our new series of video chats with Oxfordians who have written books or conducted significant research on the authorship question. The interviews are informal and conversational, running 30-40 minutes in length.

In this first of the talks, Professor Delahoyde shares insights from his research into Shakespeare’s beloved but enigmatic comedy. Michael discusses his process for integrating and extending or challenging prior scholarship, his travels to Italy, and his research over more than a decade to get to the truth. His dog Magpie shares her controversial take in a brief audio-only appearance. You won’t want to miss this fun and illuminating talk — and be sure to pick up a copy of this learned edition of Twelfth Night.

Other interviews coming up include Jim Warren, editor of a definitive series of books on the movement; Ramon Jiménez, who has recently published a scholarly edition of the “Famous Victories of Henry the Fifth”; Dr. Richard Waugaman on what might have caused Henry VIII’s weight gain;  and Robert Prechter, who just published his “Oxford’s Voices: What Shakespeare Wrote Before he was Shakespeare.”
