Exploring the evidence that the works of Shakespeare were written by Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford

Marin Shakespeare Company to Host “Who Wrote Shakespeare?”

Marin Shakespeare Company to Host “Who Wrote Shakespeare?”

Marin Shakespeare Company in San Rafael, California, invites audiences to explore one of literature’s most enduring mysteries: who wrote the works attributed to William Shakespeare?

Who Wrote Shakespeare? combines live theatre, historical inquiry, and audience discussion in an evening devoted to the Shakespeare Authorship Question.

Featured guests SOF Trustee Phoebe Nir and artistic director emeritus Robert Currier will present research on two prominent alternative candidates, Edward de Vere and Henry Neville. Actors will also perform scenes from Shakespeare’s Shadow, Jared Randolph’s new full-length play examining the personalities, political pressures, secrecy, and creative ferment surrounding the Shakespeare canon.

Audience members are invited to bring their questions, weigh the evidence, and decide for themselves.
