Richard Waugaman, M.D., uses the pending July publication of his scholarly paper “What Shakespeare Teaches Us About Psychological Complexity” to cover a wide range of topics. They range from court intrigue during the reign of Elizabeth I to Sigmund Freud’s support of Oxford as the plays’ author, to a deeper look at why the author might have created a humorous character like Falstaff even though — in girth — he resembled Elizabeth’s father, King Henry VIII.
