Exploring the evidence that the works of Shakespeare were written by Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford

Shakespeare’s Villains on the next Blue Boar Tavern

Blue Boar Tavern
Join Oxfordian scholars for a pint in The Blue Boar Tavern.

“O villain, villain, smiling, damned villain!
My tables – meet it is I set it down
That one may smile, and smile, and be a villain –
At least I am sure it may be so in Denmark.”

Hamlet, I.v

Denmark and the works of William Shakespeare, it seems, are full of villains, several of them “smiling, damned villains” to boot.

Come join the discussion in the Blue Boar Tavern on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 8 pm eastern/5 pm pacific time with the Tavern’s dauntless regulars, Bonner Cutting, Dorothea Dickerman, Alex McNeil and Phoebe Nir, as they take on Shakespeare’s villains – and maybe even discuss the historical figures on whom they were modeled in not-always-so-jolly Elizabethan England.

Tom Woosnam will be pouring stiff drinks from behind the bar for this episode!
