Proposals for presentations at the 2023 SOF Conference in New Orleans– live or recorded — are
now being accepted by the Conference Committee with a deadline of June 15th.
Approximately 20 presentation slots will be available ranging in length from 20 minutes to 45 minutes for individual papers and from 60 to 90 minutes for themed panel discussions featuring three or more people.
All proposals must connect to some aspect of Oxfordianism and/or the authorship question generally. The 2023 Conference has a special interest in issues relating to the First Folio, which was published in 1623, exactly 400 years ago. These issues will give these priority. Other issues of interest for 2023 will include Shakespeare and Music as well as Shakespeare and the French Connection. Both these areas were of keen interest to Oxford.
Proposals for papers should include the title, an abstract or description of no more than 200 to
500 words and a biography of no more than 300 words (fewer if you have been a regular speaker).
All paper proposals should indicate presentation length (15, 25, 40 minutes). Five minutes will
be added for questions.
Please indicate if you will be present in person or wish to do a video (to be sent in advance).
All panel proposals should indicate a theme and the names of at least two people who might be
approached to participate. You do not have to be a panelist yourself. The committee may
combine panel proposals and/or arrange alternative or additional speakers.
Proposals should be sent by e-mail to Conference Chair Don Rubin (drubin@yorku.ca).
Applicants will be told if their proposals have been accepted by July 1st (earlier if possible). A
second call, if needed, will be made around July 1st with a deadline of August 15th.
