The Fall 2025 issue of the Shakespeare Oxford Newsletter has been published. SOF members have received the printed edition if they chose that option. All SOF members — and students signed up for free — have been emailed the password for online access.
You too can gain access to this latest Newsletter (if you haven’t already) by joining the SOF. Membership costs as little as $29 annually for teachers or $49 for regular annual online membership.
Students: Please sign up FREE for full online access to all our journals and the same conference discounts available to members!
The Newsletter has long been a very popular flagship of the SOF, led during our first decade as a unified fellowship (2013–23) by Editor Emeritus Alex McNeil. The current Newsletter Editor, since 2024, is Heidi Jannsch. This latest issue is packed full of fascinating news and articles, including reports on:
- The 2025 Annual Conference held in New Haven
- “Visit to the Grave of Delia Bacon” — a very moving article by Shelly Maycock
- Earl Showerman honored by the SOF as 2025 Oxfordian of the Year
- Tom Regnier Veritas Award conferred by the SOF on Richard Joyrich
- Alexander Waugh Award conferred by the De Vere Society on Prof. Roger Stritmatter
- “Turner’s Watercolor of Oxford’s Home” — an article by Katherine Chiljan
- “An Actor’s Deep Dive Into Shylock” — an article by William S. Niederkorn
- Reviews of books by Earl Showerman, James A. Warren, and Stephen Greenblatt
- Plus letters, reports on SOF activities, and more!
Please note that generally speaking, past and present SOF journals are freely available to all on our website (overview here). Only the most recent annual volume of The Oxfordian and the two most recent quarterly issues of the Newsletter are restricted online to members (or students signed up for free access). With each new publication of either journal, we release the earlier restricted issue (thus, the Spring 2025 Newsletter is now freely available). But why wait? Sign up now to get access to the latest issues! By the way, printed volumes of The Oxfordian (including the most recent, just published in August) are also available for purchase on Amazon (the latest 262-page volume costs only $14.99).
