
The Shakespearean Authorship Trust and Brunel University will host a conference from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2014 in the Nancy Knowles Lecture Theatre at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London. The cost is £40 for the day; tickets go on sale at The Globe box office beginning October 6.
The 2014 SAT conference topic is “Shakespeare – the French Connection: How French personalities, topographies and topicalities haunt the plays”. Actors attending include: Richard Clifford, Derek Jacobi, Annabel Leventon, Mark Rylance, Angus Wright; and presenters are: Ros Barber, Julia Cleave, Emma “Eddi” Jolly and chairman William Leahy who will host a panel forum.
The SAT announcement said:
Our conference this year will look at French references and historical characters in Shakespeaere’s plays, including Love’s Labours Lost, Alls Well that Ends Well, Macbeth, Measure for Measure, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Henry V.
Key scenes will be performed by . . . leading Shakespearean actors.
