Register Soon for Online Event — Capacity Limited
December 7, 2020 — The De Vere Society (DVS), the British sister organization of the Shakespeare Oxford Fellowship (SOF), is holding its Autumn Conference Webinar this coming Saturday, December 12.
The conference title is “Band of Brothers: Edward de Vere and his Literary Circle in the 1580s.” It will focus on the Earl of Oxford’s writing and theatrical activities in the 1580s, with particular reference to his circle of fellow writers. The three-hour presentation, held online via Zoom, will feature invited speakers interwoven with musical interludes and readings by Oxfordian actors. The event will start at 4:00 pm GMT (8:00 am Pacific, 11:00 am Eastern in the United States).
Please note: This event will not be recorded or available to view afterward. You must register and attend the live presentation to see it. Audience members will not be visible on camera, but will have the option to submit questions to the Q&A panel.
The exciting line-up of speakers and performers is expected to include film, theatre, and TV stars Sir Derek Jacobi, Annabel Leventon, and Richard Clifford; DVS Chairman Alexander Waugh; DVS President Kevin Gilvary; DVS Founder Charles Beauclerk, Earl of Burford; Dr. Eddi Jolly; and other scholars and artists.
The DVS website event announcement indicates that audience places will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis (maximum capacity 450). Registration remains free for all members of SOF or DVS. SOF members received a special invitation email on November 23. The DVS opened the event to nonmembers on November 25. SOF members: Please note that you should have received a separate invitation email with a link for free registration. If you wish to register but have not received that email, please contact the SOF at this email address.
If you are interested in viewing the webinar as a nonmember of either DVS or SOF, the DVS requests that you please send an email to this address (or telephone 011-44-7746-807552) and they will send you a nonmember registration link. The DVS requests a donation in any amount for SOF and DVS nonmembers to register.
If you are not already a member of the SOF (or have not yet renewed for 2021), we are now inviting 2021 members. Lower rates apply if you join by the end of 2020, so join soon to obtain your free invitation to the DVS Webinar on December 12 (while spaces last), along with all other benefits of SOF membership.
The SOF congratulates our “band of brothers” (and sisters) in the De Vere Society on this exciting webinar! As always, we strongly encourage all present and future SOF members to join the DVS as well if you have not already. As we conclude this epic Centennial Year of the Oxfordian theory, let us all join forces and redouble our efforts to bring truth to light on the Shakespeare authorship question!
