Creating Conferences with Don Rubin

Don RubinDon Rubin joins Bob Meyers for a Behind the Scenes at SOF interview. Don is Professor Emeritus of dramatic literature and theatre at Toronto’s York University. He has served as Vice President of SOF and is co-chair of SOF’s conference committee (with Tom Woosnam), which presented the 2022 annual event in Ashland, Oregon. Putting on a conference involves site and date selection, topic selection, author contact and follow-through and a myriad of other details. This year’s conference was also live streamed, allowing people to attend from home. Don is now turning his attention to the 2023 event, to be held in New Orleans, and hopes to see you there (stay tuned for more information).

A teacher for more than four decades, Don’s fields of expertise include Theatre History, Modern Theatre, Aesthetics and Criticism, Shakespeare and the Authorship Question. He talks all of this and more in a Behind the Scenes interview. Watch now!

(Note: this interview was recorded prior to the 2022 Conference.)
