Exploring the evidence that the works of Shakespeare were written by Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford

About the SOF

Welcome to the Shakespeare Oxford Fellowship! Please see our Mission Statement. The SOF is a nonprofit educational association established in 2013 when the Shakespeare Oxford Society (founded in 1957) and the Shakespeare Fellowship (founded in 2001) united to form a single organization. Our members come from all walks of life but share a passion for understanding how the enigmas of our history are interwoven with the study of Shakespeare. Our Trustees are regular contributors to the intellectual life of both Canada and the United States (for more information, please click here). Our goals include bringing the Shakespeare authorship question to a worldwide audience, spearheaded by our annual scholarly journal The Oxfordian, our quarterly Shakespeare Oxford Newsletter, and our other journals and books (see overview of our publications) and supported by our website and social media outreach (for more information “About the Website,” please click here). We hope to stimulate a wide-ranging dialogue on the relevance of Shakespeare to the 21st century. Membership is open to everyone. Please join us!
